COMMUNITY HOUSE WHANGANUI COVID -19 UPDATE MARCH 2020
Community House Whanganui takes the safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and clients very seriously. Our position on the COVID-19 virus is based on the current advice from the Ministry of Health and other government agencies coupled with our recognition that a lot of our staff, volunteers and clients are particularly vulnerable to the virus due to age and health. To date Community House Whanganui has taken steps including:
Monitoring the situation and developing contingencies for potential scenarios.
Regular reviews of our COVID-19 policy.
Support for team members who are in self-isolation or working from home.
Directing team members to expert information on the virus symptoms, precautions and MOH advice.
Providing information and signage relating to prevention measures.
As from Monday 23rd March 2020 we will be closing our building to the general public. Given that we are ALL about supporting our community and keeping our community connected this is not a decision we have made lightly. It is however, one we feel we need to make to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and clients during this time.
All our member groups will continue to work to support our community (either from home if they are able, or from our building seeing clients by appointment). If you require assistance, please either contact the appropriate organisation directly or the Community House office. All phone messages, emails, messenger and website contacts will be regularly checked and answered.
